Just a reminder, you can edit dorms and commons if you don't like them. If you have students living in your dorm you need a cheat. Empty dorms can be edited without a cheat. The only thing you can't change is the layout of all the stairs between buildings in foxbury.
You can also choose the dorm lot type on other lots even in other worlds. So it is possible to enjoy dorm life and 'commute' to uni at the same time.
As for switching universities I believe I read posts about switching uni between terms. You can loose some credits though. I have not tested this myself yet but the trailer also claimed the main character switched universities.
Do you know if you live in a dorm, can you lock the door to your room from everyone else? (like in sims 3 you can lock everyone out and edit ur own room) and of course edit it in build mode. Or is that something you would need a cheat or a mod for ?
It should be possible but I have not used this option myself. Locking my sims laptop was enough for me. But I think I read somewhere on this forum that this might cause problems when you move out of the dorm.
