Do family dynamics from Growing Together change without going into CAS/cheats?

I have a parent sim who has a strict family dynamic with their child and was wondering if it were possible to have it change through gameplay. I know I can cheat it in CAS, but was curious if it could...

These can change. Keepsake boxes help to change them faster and more easily (though you need an elder to designate them first). Interacting can also lead to family dynamic to change.

Plus there is a potion in the rewards store that removes a family dynamic.
