With just about every welcome wagon, my Sims have gotten a fruitcake, and every time they've eaten it, they've hated it. Has anyone here ever had a Sim that actually LIKES the fruitcake? Does it depend on their traits, maybe?

There's a hidden "Likes Fruitcake" trait, which gives a +2 happy moodlet from eating fruitcake. It's totally random whether or not a Sim will end up with that trait, but most don't have it. Two of mine have had it, though.

Does anyone ever really like fruitcake?

I would say about 15% of my sims like the Welcome Wagon Fruitcake. All of them love the ones my maxed out, essence of flavor cook makes, those are good fruitcakes.

The best is when the Sim who brings it over (I assume it's the cook) hates it too, lol.

Yes! I had a household eat fruitcake today. One Sim got a positive moodlet and then got the interaction to "Enthuse about Fruitcake". :)

Yes, I've had a couple of Sims that loved it. I also love it in RL. It has to be made right, though. It's meant to be a dense cake, but not the consistency of a hockey puck.

I do!

And somehow even people who usually hate it sometimes tell me that the fruitcakes I bake are surprisingly good (according to my cousin and aunt it's the quality of ingredients I use, but who knows...)

all my played sims tend to have the foodie trait. they have never had the negative moodlet for fruit cake

Yes, and I even have long suspected that whether two Sims agree about fruitcake is a good indicator of their compatibility in a relationship.

I must have some odd luck in game then because I have had several who got a positive buff from the "fruity deliciousness" and I think they have better relationships with other Sims when they also love fruitcake.

Some of sims do; but it seems random as at one time they would like it and when I go back after playing another household, they end up disliking it. The ones who dislike it will eat it; but always feel uncomfortable.
