Not having twitter is your own fault - it takes no time to sign up to twitter. It is easy as pie. So don't give that excuse.
That's a bit rude.
I don't need another platform to have to keep up with!
Between facebook, twitter, instagram, tumbler, various blogs and forums, how on earth does anyone get any work done?
We shouldn't have to sign up to other social media platforms, or use them and risk revealing too much personal information. We're not allowed to post personal info here, so why should we have to risk it to keep up to date on the chatter?
I stopped using twitter years ago, it's too chaotic, discussions lack structure, and how the heck do you even find a specific topic? My twitter account was work related, so not something I'd want to be using for a game, meaning I'd have to have a second account.
The forums are much simpler. They have structure, you can follow particular threads with ease, and you can do it without giving away personal info.

Twitter is like a box with strings. You grab one and work through it until you find the end. For the next tweet you start from the beginning. One wrong click and you start from the beginning.
On the forum you have one shelf for each thread. You never lose sight where each thread is and you can read each first page, quote something and you will be perfectly fine at the end of the thread with your response. You can have multiple threads open and be as detailed as you like with every response without resorting to spam because you arent limited to 280 characters per comment.
I have to question peoples sanity if they think twitter is more effective than a forum for communication. Twitter is something for attention plums and short announcements, not for communicating.
This is how I feel about it. It's easy to find what you're looking for on a forum, twitter is like reaching into a bag of yarn that a cat has been in.
Maybe the developers should stop using all social media platforms for a month, and see if it speeds up the development of new parts of the game. Social media is well known to be a massive time waster. I get more work done without an internet connection. :/
