They consider Twitter more the official forum these days because it is more world wide and word controlled and often direct to the point.
So if they come here now a days it is usually because twitter remarks came here carrying their message or they had to further add to their message to explain something. But technically they used to come here all the time - since twitter they don't. On twitter you can see all of them that are Guru's - and follow them and talk to them and they will usually answer you - here not hardly ever anymore.
Mostly it is just us here - the mostly discontent it seems. LOL.
Think about - it, if you were a Guru and you knew here was bound to be a hornets nest - would you jump into it - if you had a safer place to go?
I really dislike that trend  You need to search for all the Gurus separately, you need to have a Twitter account in the first place to actually use some functions like look at "Tweets & replies", nowadays Twitter makes it hard to even create accounts without phone numbers, Gurus can block you for weird reasons (cough like the whole EP discussion where a certain SimGuru denied we ever got 3 EPs per year with TS3) and then you have to get infos from a third party, I find it incredibly weird to see long posts split into 10 tweets (like the one from SimGuruKate who was telling people to be nicer to the Gurus) instead of posting them here on their official forums and then link it via Twitter, there's the character limit of like 280 symbols or something etc.
All in all I just find it really weird to not use their own official forum and instead pass most informations along via a social media platform that's not always available for everyone. Especially when it comes to official infos about upcoming packs it happens only on Twitter nowadays (except two or three official blog posts).- Posts: 80,786 Member

We see it @comicsforlife & @catloverplayer. ;)
I certainly can't weigh in with any solid info into what we are currently making or may be considering for the future, but I will absolutely confirm that we're regularly watching these boards and take your collective input seriously.
So even if you don't hear from us directly often, THANK YOU for caring about this game and offering feedback/suggestions/ideas/etc. You folks are really the best gaming community out there. We hear and love ya!
Awesome. Thanks SimGuruNinja. "Zasz;c-16808361" wrote:

Constructive criticisms they do respond -- for example when people were upset about the texture of the ball pit in Toddler Stuff.
General bellyaching, not so much.
What's to determine constructive criticism and "bellyaching"? Or better yet WHO determines that? Lol
It's easy to tell the difference. Feedback is constructive when it pinpoints a problem, explains why it's problematic, and suggests a solution. Preferably without insults thrown into the mix. Though, just because feedback might be constructive doesn't mean it'll always get a response.
Really? I saw a lot of so called bellyaching in those big threads about the ballpit. It wasn't exactly constructive, and neither are the threads about the new EP not having enough lots. We should never have to come up with the solution, they don't pay us enough for that. :D- yeah, I see most activity from them on twitter, which is platform I dislike and don't use.
These are the official forums... this is the designated feedback thread.... but it always just seems to me that posting here is generally useless. More like a formality than anything else. "DreamaDove;c-16808605" wrote:

Feedback here is more like just preaching to the choir."xamira99;c-16808121" wrote:

Couldn't agree more... :D
But I really hope that they could come here more often as most of the ideas posted over here are very good and detailed.. It's totally fine for them to post some simple poll, but the suggestion that the players posted here are like rough diamonds that sometimes be mistaken for worthless pebbles.
Else, what's the point for the players to discuss ideas here.. I wonder where else the players could submit their proposal and share their feedback.. besides being a game changer/twitter?
They probably have intermediaries who read the forum and report back to the gurus."Zasz;c-16808361" wrote:
Ive seen a guru comment here. Only because he was mentioned and then closed the thread because of some forum rules. Other than that they dont comment where their input would be useful. If they post then only for verbally self-stroking and for outside game topics. Its a common thing in the gaming industry now. They promise the players the heavens and beyond but then just look at the patch notes and content.
Ive been gaming for 20 years now and this trend is growing. Why? Because they know players cant do anything about it.Think about - it, if you were a Guru and you knew here was bound to be a hornets nest - would you jump into it - if you had a safer place to go?
Its their own fault for being absent, not listening to the endless debates and detailed explainations about big issues and not attempting to fix said bugs at all. Then they closed the bug section in order to divert all bug reporting to another website that doesnt seem to get much attention either.I certainly can't weigh in with any solid info into what we are currently making or may be considering for the future, but I will absolutely confirm that we're regularly watching these boards and take your collective input seriously.

Oh no. I'm truly lost. ?- Hermitgirl7 years agoNew SpectatorI doubt one of the guru's main functions is to comb through the forums. I'm sure it's being watched though for trends, engagement, ideas, feedback ect. in some manner. We aren't the only forum here though there are forums in other languages and other ways to have community involvement like Twitter.
Probably when they do answer here it's downtime or even their own personal time. Of course we had the stuff pack project too I'm sure some time was allotted for that. Although knowning how businesses sometimes run probably not enough lol.
I'm pretty sure they need some just personal living away from the sims time too. - loubyloulou7 years agoSeasoned Novice

This. Just because they don't post that often, doesn't mean they don't peruse the forum.
