I think I saw somewhere that if you add a lot of candles to your house ( haunted house lot type ) that your sims don’t get too scared ), you can also pick 3 different levels of haunting I believe with the hand. But if you are wanting points for the brave trait, I think it takes longer the less haunted your house is.
