My sims partner up more often with random townies than pre-mades. Pretty much know everything there is to know about them, they're not that interesting, no surprises. Although, I still do have my favourites, but I keep those in their own saves, not bothering them in any new games.
For now, marriage is turned off in MCCC because I hadn't really set it up and there was some weird pairings. There was no balance, and 90% of the male bachelors were married off to male randoms. I don't mind gay marriages, I have a few myself, but it was too much.
I can't remember if I ever partnered two pre-mades, although in one save, Izzy and Johnny lives together. They are BBF's, have lots in common, always seeking eachother out to talk. I'm tempted to make them a couple.
