Do you play with Pets?

I play with several house holds and a few of them have a pet. A couple of them have a dog, My magic twin sisters, have a dog and a cat. The Goths have a Siamese cat, and a rat. Another small family has a hamster.. and I have one child that has a couple of frogs and insects and a guppy as pets. I wish they would put some more small animals in the game, like birds, lizards, snakes, bunnies, maybe a ferret, and tarantula. I actually like my first pet stuff. Wish they’d bring one out with things like lizards in small tanks (about the size of the frog tanks), that you can feed and play with.

Not every household has pets. I try to keep it random amounts of dogs and cats in and about the world living with different sims but not everyone. Feels more real that way.

I used to have pets in almost every household and a couple of households with more than one pet, until they were just always sick as soon as I rotated, it was just too annoying so I reduced the number a lot, but I do enjoy the pets I got especially the dogs :smile:
Besides cats and dogs, I also use fish regularly and now hamsters/rats/hedgehogs, I know there is not much to them gameplaywise (especially fish) but I just loooove animals, I wish we had more pets to choose from...

Occasionally an Alsatian or similar breed.
But they would need to have a special function. Usually they’d serve as a military dog at an army base. I’d give it the genius, loyal and hunter trait, so it will be able to train and learn fast and find rare collectibles in the world in order to help my sims with whatever mission they’re on.

And...sometimes a kitten. Only because I like to watch it flop around the place. I never age them up. Silly little things.

I get easily distracted by the pets and stop everything when they are uncomfortable. Unless they are relevant to the household for a specific reason like a cat lover saving up money to someday have a vet clinic or something, I don’t usually have them as they take up time from what I should be getting my Sims to do.

With a pocketful of vet treats and the selectable pets mod, playing with pets is great fun! I loved seeing my pet hippo (customized dog) swimming!

I've tried to few times but honestly I often have my hands too full with sims to add pets into the mix

maybe if they didn't take household spot and were more... magical

They just add a little extra something to each of my households.
