Just like with any other game I play, I always have my sound on. I feel like it gives some sort of immersion that you don't get when you play with the sound of. Surely I sometimes do it when I'm waiting in the train or somewhere else. But it often takes away some of the fun for me. As someone who works on games herself, soundtrack, voice acting and environment sounds became a very important part of the games I play and work on. It really adds some more depth to it in my opinion.
But of course I can also see how this isn't everyones cup of tea, some of it can get quite annoying after some time haha. Especially if Sims voices or the soundtrack isn't your cup of tea (but I often found myself enjoying the soundtrack from each and every Sims game).
