I may be the one the OP was referencing. Yesterday my exterior speakers went out, or rather just stopped giving sound. (Strangely, today they are working again.) I don't use headphones, because although I no longer have any wee ones in my RL household anymore, I still need to be aware of what's going on. Playing the game without sound is like watching a movie on an airplane and you couldn't afford the headphones. I did that once decades ago. When I finally was able to see the movie on TV, I discovered what was actually going on in the story, was far different from my interpretation without sound. Crazy, eh? I don't mind the repetitive gibberish our Sims speak. Instead I find myself trying to discover what one word or another oft repeated could possibly mean? I know there is no real science behind their language, but still. I find listening to them a real source of my personal immersion in the game.
