Do You Play With The Motives Panel Open or Closed?

I've noticed I always play with the motives panel open. I have a hard time closing it and I miss it when it is closed. It's something I always had open in TS2 and 3 as well. Whenever I watch YouTubers...

If you open a window (inventory/needs etc) and then you press in the right thumb stick (on PS4 at least) it "pins" the open window so you can leave it open and do other things in the game.
