For me it depends on the sims.
I honestly LOVE clutter, its very - very rare that I have next to NO clutter.
For example if I am playing an average family with one or two kids, there will always be that tiny bit of extra clutter - such as in a kids room. But if its a larger family - there is a fair amount of clutter. Then on the other hand if its a single sim or a couple on their own - its tiny clutter that just makes it look lived in... but I DO prefer at least a small amount of decorative clutter objects (such as small things in a kitchen or living room etc.)
