I got TS1 as soon as it came out. I had found out about it doing research for an economics paper on a US stock company. How I wound up doing it on EA is a long story, but the bottom of it is that I knew of the game while it was still in development and kept tabs on it as at the time it was revolutionary. Did the Newbie's & Goth's a bit to get the hang of it and then dived right in making own families. Not looked back since. Not only was it the sims themselves, but the ability to make my own world and write my own stories-including lots of screen shots and long captions. Sort of like doing graphic novels. It's been a great way to unwind/de-stress after work, and TS2 is still the best of the bunch.
