I play rotational and am really kinda confused and worried about sim culling ever since I first found out that existed. I was curious to know if it's okay to stop it happening with MC command center or if that's something that is going to be bad for my game. I do have a fairly good computer that runs the game on ultra settings. I just really don't want to loose sims from my families or that my sims might have befriended. I've already disabled relationship culling but I still feel worried about population culling. Sorry in advance if this thread breaks any rules or is posted in the wrong place.

Yes. But I use NPCC along with MCCC, does a far better job at using existing homeless sims for roles, provided that you have enough sims in world. I have more or less 400 right now and the game never generates townies.

I switch off culling and do manual culling instead. When the game has so many sims it starts being dysfunctional, I go into Manage Worlds and delete the homeless sims generated by the game.

Sim culling is when your game gets rid of sims you don’t have favorited. It doesn’t normally happen with people in houses ( at least in my game). If your favorited sims have a high relationship, high romance, or high dislike for sims, it usually keeps that other sim from being culled too. I usually save townies I like, especially after taking the time to make them over. If they get culled I can add them back. I wish they would raise the favorited numbers ( like from 200 to 300.). I hope they are working on it. I don’t use mods or cc.

Never heard of it, so if it's on by default I haven't switched it off. I only mess with things I know the consequences of. :)

Never had need to cull any sim before. Variety is the spice of life.
Any good that comes with the bad and vice versa is all part and parcel of what makes life. If i deleted any sim i disliked or simply because they are in the way, it defeats the purpose of a realistic playthrough.
