Good question. I have The Sims 1 but never did much with it because I liked the graphics of 2 and 3 more. I suppose I thought 2 because it had improvements over 1 and it was so popular. After all they (the devs) said that these Sims were going to be more alive, smarter and have these great emotions. I didn't think they would go back 14 years just to cut things from the base.
The odd thing is, that while I never had the problems with TS3 that some players talk about, I thought the Sims could be a little smarter and more animated. Little did I know they were going to be better in showing their emotions and reacting more than the current version.
