IMO some of the shortcuts didn't bother me but a lot of them did. The family animations and the car animations, for instance. But in general a lot depends on whether you think being 'challenging' is a good thing in a life simulation game. I'm more of an 'immersive' player than a player that needs for things to be harder. Keeping their needs up and throwing away bottles could be a drag, but opening up their cupboards and drawers when they cooked, bathing their toddlers and babies, and getting in and out of cars were a lot more immersive than the animation shortcuts they keep doing ever since then. I think it would be great if they add a lot of those details back but provide another way to get rid of trash, for example, like they did in TS3 where the player can just drag it to the trashcan. But that's just my take on it. We're all different in what we like and how we like to play, which is why lots of options would be ideal.
