Do your sims keep throwing their spoiled food in their baby's diaper pails?

This is my first question here on this site. I've tried looking to see if anyone else is dealing with this, but I couldn't find anything. Ever since the Growing Together EP came out, I noticed that my sims would take their spoiled food from the kitchen, carry it upstairs to their baby's nursery, and put it in their diaper pail even though there is a perfectly functional trash can downstairs! This reminds me of the sinks and how Sims would wash their dishes in the bathroom! I made sure that nothing was wrong with the kitchen's trash can and tried out different ones. I also made sure nothing was getting in my sims' way for them not to be using it. When my toddler aged up to a child, I deleted the diaper pail along with the changing table. My sims started using the kitchen trash can again. I noticed this happening in different households, and it didn't matter if the house was two-story or just one. It's annoying, but it's not the worst thing in the game. I've never seen anyone talk about this. Does this happen to anyone else?
