Sims 3 had a matchmaker who would set you up with a date, for the right price. You talked to her, chose an amount to pay her up to §500, and based on the amount of money, a date would drop out of the sky onto the sidewalk.
I had two Sims, based on characters from stories I'd written. They were going to get together some day, but first the male sim needed to have many, many dates. Cheap dates were terrible for the most part. Sims with nothing in common, not the right age group, etc. Then I decided to pay the §500 to see what would happen: The other Sim from the story fell out of the sky, though they'd never met. The matchmaking service was that good.
