Does anyone know if winter will kill off the garden plants?

The reason I'm asking is because I have a garden that has almost perfect garden plants, except for those that came with the Jungle Adventure. My sim is currently working on those, to get them to perf...

I truly believe it was confirmed that we'll get a Greenhouse, so I am thinking, maybe the plants will go into hibernation at least the ones that are outside and exposed to the weather!
