I also don't understand why so many don't like the Dance Machine trait. I've had Sims with that trait before and they're actually kind of fun. Yes, they do get tense if they haven't danced in a while, but send them to dance at a stereo and they're happy. Plus, these Sims get a unique way to fill the energy bar by taking a Disco Nap. It's not a very long nap and it fills up their energy completely. Seems like a good trait to have in my opinion. *shrugs*
I know! Dance Machine is actually one of my favourite traits. It's so cute when they do their little jigs when idle and it actually gives sims some personality. I guess a lot of players just find it annoying when they get bored from not dancing enough? It doesn't take long to get rid of the bored buff though or even cover it up with other buffs. Aren't our sims too happy anyway? Saying that, my dance machine vampire hardly ever gets bored. I love watching him dance as well so it doesn't bother me. That man has got some moves! :D
I also love the Gloomy trait, which doesn't seem very popular either. I love tragic characters and hurt/comfort though and it also helps with creative pursuits. As I commented earlier, it's easy enough to balance out too with other traits. So, for example, one of my Gloomy sims also has the Good trait, so he often feels happy around his Clumsy Goofball partner and other sims with positive emotions. I feel it adds to his character and story really well. His partner also has the Jealous trait which again keeps things interesting. They definitely bring out the best in each other.
