Dream Home Decorator Positive Thoughts Thread

This is definitely a pack that focuses much more on expanding build/buy options rather than game play options, I have mixed feelings.

On one hand this pack is introducing many new build/buy features/assets that will become staples in many, many, manyyyyy of my builds. Modular sofas, modular shelving and storage units with A TON of empty decor slots, a mini oven???, a counter top stove, two new counter sets, I counted three new bunk bed variants. This pack alone offers so many new build/buy options that either weren't possible before or difficult to achieve with the currently available assets.

On the other hand it seems the only new gameplay addition is the new career. So this is essentially a DLC pack designed to expand build buy. I'm not terribly bothered by this decision, I actually think it's really cool that a pack was made mainly to expand versatile build/buy options, it's just weird to see one of the strongest areas of Sims 4 have an entire pack dedicated to it when other areas of the game require some needed attention.

Still, excited to pick it up on sale, the new furniture sets look stunning as always.

Kitchen counters look reallyyy nice. I only ever use like three different counters because most of them annoy me, these ones look really good. I love the stove-top as well, because most of the ovens in the game annoy me as well lol. I get retro/mid-century vibes off the convection oven and the wardrobe, seems like a lot of the furniture is very versatile. Most excited for the sectional sofas.

I hope we get some new bars that match the kitchen counters. There are so few in game that match to counters, it's very sad.

It could just be movie magic, but I noticed in the trailer, some of the objects on the kitchen counter look like they were placed with moveobjects. It would be so nice if they are updating the object slotting as a patch.

I'll be looking forward to this. I've done some renovation and some building but there is more that I can do. More so, the stuff in a lot of the older houses is very dated in my opinion, so this will be a push to update more. I'm interested in the career & preferences. I'm somewhat close to running out of lots again but it would also be fun to deal with requests from "my own sims" with a new designer.

It's a minor thing but I like that they are getting a new tv channel.

Preferences will be interesting. I might spend a play session or two just tweaking those if they are randomly assigned since I largely play with my own characters. I'll definitely work the new objects into houses. If a new world is coming, it would be welcome.

There have been other packs that have been less my style than this one. I play with so many houses that I think this does fit my playstyle.

First thing, this should of been a Stuff Pack. That being said, love the connected couch/loveseats, stove counter tops, split beds, new bunkbed & other objects. I'm hoping the new kitchen electronics can work off-the-grid.

And I also do not want to build long period of time in a row, why usually I also play with my tester-sim a bit in my build save. (well at least lots are play tested , hah. )

But this may take me out from my comfort zone, if I need to build in certain budget or certain wishes are limiting what I need to build.

This is exactly how i feel. I like to build but i'm terrible... so this pack is a dream really. With goals and some direction i can practice a lot...
