SimGuruDuke ‘seems to be’ taking suggestions possibly(?) for a new Sims game. Whether it’s TS5 or not, who’s to say, but this is the closest confirmation I’ve seen that they’re thinking about the next Sims titles.

No - he said on twitter he was working on a new yet unannounced mobile Sims game.
I knew it, and people still thinking Sims 4 on PC is still next and there's an EP coming..and console and mobile gamers are telling us not to worry..well yeah ok
Michael Duke does not work on the pc game - for one thing he is an engineer - not a dev - and he was working on the console, not our pc game other than making our pc game work on the consoles. So that has no reflection on the pc version regardless.
He started in Maxis 12 yrs ago as a gameplay engineer for the Sims 3 basegame. Later he became a development director for TS4 in charge of both gameplay engineering and design teams. Now he is a senior producer for the console versions of TS4. So sure he is a dev! :)
I am well aware. There are many people on the teams that were not or are not Sims Guru's - Michael Duke had been one of those. I am glad he joined the Guru's and is willing to talk with us. It is always cool when Maxis people dare to take that step. I guess we are a scary bunch - who could blame them for staying in the shadows.
But yes I am well aware of his history and experience. I was talking about now - not what he did prior.
I understand very well if most of them choose not to become simgurus because I doubt that I would choose it either if I had been a dev. The reason of course isn’t that the forum is scaring. Instead it for me would be that I couldn’t comment on people’s ideas anyway and that I couldn’t talk about the project I was working on because it hadn’t been officially announced yet.
I understand though why he was more motivated to become a guru as a senior producer because now he at least is able to discuss the game he is responsible for even though he still can’t tell anything really about the future.
