I've only read reviews of it but "Red Dead Redemption 2" seems to be a single player game in which you can choose your own storyline. Definitely single player and Rockstar appear to be committed to that. It's been getting rave reviews of 10/10 from some reviewers. The better the storylines are the less you can play online with others I think. More like a book but not Sims.
I'll stick to Sims 4 with all it's imperfections if the game goes online in the future. I don't think I would be able to compete with the experts. I'm already beaten into submission by some of the builders!
