Who will be the new Senior Producer ? SimGuruGraham or SimGuruNinja ? Or will SimGuruGrant be back ?
Grant and Ninja are pretty controversial figures in the franchise so I guess maybe Graham?
Grant is only "controversial" to a small subset of the Sims community. He still got promoted on to other things so apparently, that has no affect on Maxis jobs.
But I'd say Ninja is a "fan favorite" so to speak, and has seemed to be more at the forefront of things for over a year, so I wouldn't be surprised if he was next in line. I like him having more of a direct influence on the game, though. He was lead producer on the Vampires pack and also did Jungle Adventures and Parenthood. "LiELF;c-17744289" wrote:

@LiELF SimGuruGrant throwing tantrums on twitter and fighting with Simmers was absolutely unprofessional. I don't see how EA would allow someone so childish be in such a high position.
And Ninja became kind of controversial during the whole Spark'd thing but also during the journey to Batuu fiasco. He seems to have taken a step back now but who knows. I'm sure a lot of people still like Ninja. And yeah as you said he was at the forefront of a lot of things in 2020. Maybe he is next in line- logionX5 years agoSeasoned AceYeah it's fascinating that because of this simguru thing we normal people actually get an insight into what positions people are in and when they are leaving. I wonder if someone will take over for simguruDuke.

@Horrorgirl6 Haha, he was arguing with Simmers on Twitter to the point when he had to post this: "I'm reducing *all* social media use, including Instagram" because of the backlash.
I think he deleted most of his posts from the arguing but some of it is still up, you can check it out on his Twitter account- LiELF5 years agoLegend

He wasn't being childish (that I saw) he was answering questions honestly and Simmers didn't like the answers so they whined and started acting like Karens and went into toxicity mode. I don't think anyone should have to tolerate that, no matter who you work for, big corporate or not. People can be abominable.
It's a really bizarre phenomenon. Some people would rather be fed sugar-coated half-truths to be told what they want to hear rather than treated like adults with direct honesty. And then the same people complain that devs are too sickly sweet with company double-talk and aren't honest, lol.
Regardless of how anyone views it, he got promoted and moved on. He still makes occasional statements, though. I personally suspect he's leading the new team for Sims 5 because they've been pretty vague about his position. - logionX5 years agoSeasoned Ace

I thought that he was okay in his responses, I might not have agreed with all his decisions but at least he did reply to people's questions with honesty. It looks like sadly, that's what made him leave twitter.
I think a lot of people on twitter mistake simgurus as some sort of friends. They are still employees and they might not always agree with what people want. - Babykittyjade5 years agoSeasoned Ace

Grant was an HONEST guru. He was straight up and told it like it was. He didn't sugar coat anything to make it sound good and simmers hated him for it. - LiELF5 years agoLegend

Sorry, I forgot to address the second part of your post regarding SimGuruNinja.
Those things were hardly a controversy. People weren't really excited about Spark'd, but it seemed more of a quick fizzle than a strike on Ninja's character. As for Batuu... again, people were more upset about the pack itself than Ninja personally, and those who were consisted of a small subset of players who get overemotional about their video games and declare war on Twitter, lol. The internet is a crazy place where people lose their spit over the smallest of things. He seems to be doing just fine. Haters gon' hate. I kind of feel like he's the obvious choice for the position if he wanted it. - VeganZebra5 years agoRising Rookielets hope for a good year full of stuff we want.
