@JoAnne65 I hear you. I hate the fact that I would have to buy something to know if I like it or not. Nobody knows better than me what I'm looking for. Watching game-play and reading reviews will only go so far, unless you can find someone that has your exact same tastes. I know it might not be the best method, but for me I just assume I'm not going to like it and someone will have to convince me otherwise. I'm like that for all games lately. So far I think it's worked alright. It might mean I miss a good game, but I would rather miss a good game than get stuck buying a bad one.
When I'm on the fence, I just wait until it's on sale and pick it up then. At least I'm only out for half instead of the full amount. I'm like that for all games.
Fortunately or unfortunately, depending how you look at it, I have a relative who works in the gaming industry and some of the things I have knowledge of just makes me jaded towards gaming in general. I used to buy 10-12 games a year, now i buy one or two at the most. Sometimes too much information can be a bad thing. I would probably enjoy gaming much more than I do if I was oblivious to some things. :/
