I've been playing sims 4 for almost a year now (I'm behind I know) and watching others play for a lot longer (I know what you're thinking) but I've never once or experienced an emotional death?! h...

Hysterical is easy to get even when you're NOT going to extremes to get it! Just stack Happy and Playful Moodlets.
Of course the more packs you have, the more access to Happy moodlets you have.
Agreed, it is quite easy. These are my sim's moodlets after just waking up in the morning:

All of these are practically just from existing. He didn't have to talk to anyone or eat anything or use any object to get these and it's already at +13. He's like this every night and a few hours in the morning.
