Yes, I'm using mods, but none that should affect outfits, and before I go on the hunt again just to discover that the issue isn't even mod-related, I'd like to hear if other players have experienced these or similar problems:
I use MCCC and have it set to only pull sims from my tray with their clothes and names intact. I populate the tray with my sims. I do not allow the game to generate sims. I use NPCC to assign NPC jobs. This takes care of the generated sims. I have found that recently though, sims that age up sometimes have strange combinations of clothing on. Here's the kicker: I have a ton of CC but because I used The Sims 4 studio to make sure no CC is used on random sims, all these atrocious clothing debacles are the maxis-made outfits! I can't even blame my CC! I wish I understood the dressing algorithm used by the game. It makes no sense to me whatsoever.
