First look at Scouts

https://twitter.com/simsvip/status/1005623683371675649?s=21

So it looks like Scouts isn’t a rabbit hole thing, there are badges you earn by doing activities on Home and Community Lots.

There’s so much on Seasons they haven’t shared yet.

OMG this looks awesome. I'm really surprised they haven't talked about it yet! It add so much for enhancing playing with kids!
It makes me wonder if maybe there's not much else to say... I've been wondering what you can do with badges or scouts in general because the idea is neat. So far I know you can dance a few times and get a badge - Then what? Can you just place it somewhere? Does it unlock other items? Does it give skill points or character values? I haven't seen/heard anything yet. It just sounds like doing some random activities a handful of times and then you get some kind of achievement  I really hope there's more to it though.

What bit of the live-stream i was able to watch, if you have parenthood you can raise responsibility skill while doing scouting activities

I thought it only raised the skill because they were doing something that normally raises the parenthood skill anyway.
Well, this time it's good to be wrong

I'm confused isn't it the same thing? Like raking leaves. The action came with seasons, yet it increases the skill with parenthood. You can have a badge require you do something active (seasons/scouting) so you send the sim jogging. Not only does it count for scouting but the sim gains (i think) emotional control skill ...or is it conflict resolution from parenthood. So in a way, yes it's things they may have done to raise skill for parenthood, the trigger in this case is scouting.

I hope i made sense. Basically, scouting boosts parenthood

I find it odd that teens can be scouts, it's more appropriate for kids in my opinion. Especially since teens look like full grown Sims they look kind of silly in those uniforms searching for bugs, as opposed to kids who look adorable. No teen scouts in my game lol

I'm Erie on this idea as well I hope that kids and teens have different scout badges because if it's the same then I feel the gurus have not been listening at all I want more activities for the teens to do but I don't want the teens to be dumb down and lose their maturity since the teens seem more mature then previous games. I really like that a lot.

OMG! This is awesome. My sims already have a scout uniform ready for this content. :D

I love that CC scout shirt. :) It encouraged me to form a scout group as well. My troupe has the blue one with the yellow neckerchief and khaki shorts.

I agree that it looks nicer than the EA one. It has the sash and badges, which is really nice.

Well they can’t listen to everyone :|
  • In my experience, it’s very common to be a teen scout. Especially for the boys (I personally didn’t know many girls who remained in scouts as teenagers, but I’m sure there were lots!).

Boys also can become an Eagle Scout, the highest level in Boy Scouts. It’s really difficult to achieve, you would definitely be a teenager by the time you got it. Im not sure if it’s true so much anymore, but it used to be that being an Eagle Scout really meant something, even as an adult. There’s scholarship opportunities definitely, sometimes it would even help someone rank up in the military faster.

Sorry I don’t know of the female equivalent, I’m sure the highest rank for girls is just as much an honor. I quit after Brownies, so I have no idea!

Anyway, point is: I think it’s totally fine if most of your sims quit Scouts as teens. Lots of kids do IRL! But Scouts are definitely teenagers. It’s not strange at all.

I'm not sure scouts is good for my game. Whenever I play a teen with a part-time job, they hardly get time to sleep or have fun and are constantly tense!

They can babysit which is only on the weekend. Scouts might be on the weekends, too.
  • i wasn't expecting an in-depth scouts system. now i have another thing to look forward to! :D
