Not only did FreeTime give us a new world/neighborhood, but we also got:
A secret lot for each hobby interest with a hobby guru that would visit your sim's home to give them a membership once the sim qualified
remote control cars and helicopters
violin
exercise bike
soccer net
ant farm
the repairable and then drive car
pottery wheel
sewing machine
model railroad layout (build terrain, not just run train)
activity table for toddlers
genie lamp
hunt bugs (potentially dangerous), watch birds, and stargaze activities
All of these added gameplay to varying degrees.
