TS4 needs better AI here because I barely see it in the game. The other day Don randomly hit on my married sim at work because he got flirty. I thought it was so amusing. It almost never happens I don't know what programming they did there. Or if it's emotional dependant but NPC sims are almost always happy and that's why I don't see it, I don't know.
But it really depends on the scenario. I'm not about to generalize and say it's all one or the other. I especially hate leaving everything to the sims, especially on TS4 where nothing ever happens, for the most part. - LaBlue03147 years agoSeasoned Ace95% of the time I just let my sim do their thing. It's the 5% where I intervene because I either want them to do something a certain way or they are just being plain dumb and is getting ready to so something that would either end a relationship or self.
Now with that said, when it comes to doing something new such as Jungle Adventures, I'll take more control of them, but that would be around 50%. - Nindigo797 years agoSeasoned AceI play with autonomy enabled, but also direct my Sims to do stuff. It's the only way for a Sim to display their personality. I like that and build my stories and feelings for a Sim around it. But if I follow a Sim to work, I disable it for the duration of the work day to max out performance. And because I don't want to cancel their wish to wash hands, grab water, play blicblock, and workout a million times.
- Mix of both but I usually go overboard with storylines for my sims so I prefer to control them lol
- I play with autonomy on but am happy to also micromanage one Sim at a time in a household while letting some others do their thing. Seems to be a good balance for me :)
I definitely control my sims a lot more than it looks like others do! As I play rotationally and blog the events, I kind of have a plan in my head of what I need to achieve in week on that family so I need to make sure they do it!
I'm all about the control!

- Hermitgirl7 years agoSeasoned AceBoth... Mostly micromanaging, but I do let them roam now and then for laughs. It's kind of fun to to micromanage one sim in a household and just let the rest run free. Fun to to set them up for failure and see how bad it goes..
- For myself, I have found that I interfere a lot with my family and will only sometimes let them to their own thing. Since I've created a new household, I've been letting them to their own thing.
- I have autonomy on because it's occasionally useful, but I rarely let my sims roam. I usually pick everything my Sims do. I pause my game a lot to have every sim doing something. I want to change how I play to give my sims a little more freedom because I think it will make my games more interesting.
