Full control or let them roam?

I'm a control freak myself - right down to the food and drinks that they eat.

Yeah, I'm pretty much a control freak. Sometimes I get a little lazy, and let 'em ruin their lives all by themselves.

I usually play with full autonomy but right now I'm raising toddler triplets and trying to get them skilled and trained before seasons arrives so I have free will off.

I usually have a sim do a task, when it is finished I cancel the task I gave them so they can do whatever then assign a task to the next sim and repeat the process.

I know assigning all the sims to do their assigned task will be more efficient but sometimes that can backfire and they miss out on class or work.

I remember doing this in Sims 2 University. My sims all missed their classes because I assigned them a task to complete and didn't pay attention to the message of "so-and-so's class starts in one hour".

I play with autonomy on but give them direction. The constant getting water drives me bonkers though, yet a sim can't get a cup of tea to go with their dinner without separate interactions. Get cup of tea, ok cancel, NO DON'T put it in the fridge, put it on the table. Ok now get dinner, no don't stand and eat cary it to the table with your drink. Ok sit down, eat your food, and drink your drink.

It’s about 80% autonomy and about 20% control.. only for the major decisions.
