It's been a while since I played an Actor as well, but that's a good question. I don't remember noticing if the dressing room was upgraded over time, but I do recall that my lowly nobody types couldn't even get in there at all. I don't recall at what point in their careers they could access it, though. Hmmm. I should make a new Actor and find out!

Edit: That is, I'm assuming you meant the private room designated to the main Actor on the set, and not the rooms where the stylist and wardrobe people are.

I think it's with promotions in the actor career, tho it's been a while since I played as well lol.

I played the acting career recently, and I noticed the sets were becoming fancier over time. I don't think it's necessarily tied to career level but whether if your Sim is doing a movie, daytime/primetime television, or commercial.

That is definitely new. My sim is a lowly B grade actor and she doesn't have that fancy personal dressing room, just the makeup chair and dressing podium.

My sim is just shy of two stars, so probably more like a z-lister. ?

I loaded up my old save file so I could test it out.

My Sim had a movie gig Of Tea & Treachery. Just like your picture above, the private dressing room was available to him for the movie gig. I quit the game and reloaded the save. This time, I canceled the movie gig and got a commercial gig, Salty Suds. I fast forwarded until it was time to join him and this is what the set looked like:

Despite him being level 10 in the acting career and being a global superstar, there was no private dressing room for the commercial gig. So, I do think it's tied to the type of gig and not career or celebrity level.

I didn't test it out for the daytime and primetime television gigs. I can try to test those out, too.

EDIT: I just tested it out with a primetime television gig: Dignity & Decorum. The private dressing room was available.

EDIT 2: The daytime television gig Wild Flames did not have the private dressing room.

So it seems like if your Sim is doing a higher paid gig like primetime TV or movies, they will have a private dressing room. Lower paid gigs like commercials and daytime TV will not have a dressing room.

It's not just the dressing room that gets upgraded. The crafts services (aka food table) does too. One time you might get pizza another time roast chicken, as an example.

Not to my knowledge. I put my Singer Sim into the Acting career after he got his degree in Fine ArtS. I just wanted to see him get an Accolade. I kept at it and he won a number of them. I never saw any changes to speak of. He never got a trailer, never had his own 'dressing' room, etc. No real deference to him at all.

Eventually, another pair of players explained to me what I needed to do so that he could win for his music. I ended up having to restart and I used the one mod and the knowledge given and I'm as happy as a clam. :) He's won a lot and for his music. This is Starlight Accolade number 14 for Best Song. (Smiling so hard my cheeks ache.)
