- It's weird though that Get To Work felt like a barebone of everything type of expansion pack whereas Island Paradise (Expansion pack for The Sims 3) had much MORE STUFF THAT WERE SO IN DEPTH.
- I would choose Get Together hands down.
I love those aliens, and they are great, but if I could only have one it would be GT. - Colton14141410 years agoSeasoned RookieBoth of them. o:)

There is a reason there is a VS in the title and why I say "if you could only choose one of them" -.-- Simfan92310 years agoSeasoned AceI'll say GT cause I love the dancing. The group system is either broken in my game or I'm just not understanding how it works.

It is so ironic that before Get Together released we said it would be the worst expansion pack ever and now we prefer it over Get To Work XD
Get To Work was great in idea, but they blew it on implementation because of the active careers relying on those idiotic task lists. I was tired and fed up with the task lists within a couple days of playing. It reminded me too much of the "to-do" missions for a RPG game. Since I was initially drawn to the Sims franchise for the open sandbox play, RPG features don't appeal to me. I've never tried the retail aspect because after reading other player's input on how it falls short of OFB, I just wasn't interested.
Get Together seems to be working much better for players because it goes back to offering what players want. Flexibility. Choices. It still has a long way to go, but I feel a small bit more hopeful about Sims 4 when I think about Get Together in comparison to Get To Work. Now I'm just waiting to see what more will come in 2016. I'm not as discouraged as I used to be, but neither am I really enthusiastic about this version. I'm more in a "wait and see" mode now. - Get Together. Both expansion packs feel very small compared to previous ones, but Get Together focussed on what it could do within that scope of content and executed it ( at least for me ) perfectly. GTW had so much potential but none of the aspects were as good as they could have been.
Retail was missing the little details like shopping bags, waiting in line, sims eating baked goods at the bakery, etc. and would've been better if we could use future content better with it ( like GT café objects being compatible with bakeries ).
The careers were all missing objects and gameplay besides the stuff in the game because there's so much more to being a police officer, a doctor or a scientist IRL than what the 3 careers showed. Like SO much more. I won't even go into aliens, because there's just not much to say about them.
I feel like all of these aspects would need a gamepack worth of content added to them to feel fully fletched out and I know that's not going to happen. - pammiechick10 years agoLegendI vote for Get Together, too, but I do want to put in a plug for Get to Work--I enjoy being able to do things with aliens, go with my sims to work (and with the Go To School mod by Zerbu, I get to go to elementary or high school with my kids). I'd really HATE not having that pack. Zerbu also has a Turbo Career mod that allows me to travel with ALL careers. It's so much fun to set up for me! (But isn't it sad a modder had to come up with probably the best content addition to make that pack so fun.)
That said, Get Together gives you a whole new world with a powerful tool in clubs. My kids can skill up with a club; I can have maids come over and DO their jobs by making a cleaning club or have gardener elves come over to garden. It's awesome! And the other ways to have fun are limitless. I haven't even scratched the surface. Not to mention the scenery is BREATHTAKING.
But if you can save up for later, I'd highly encourage you to get Get to Work when you can. "Cabelle1863;14443124" wrote:

Exactly why I hated Get To Work, I thought it was a SIMULATION GAME not a DO THIS AND DO THAT GAME!"pammiechick;14443140" wrote:

I have Get To Work, I was just curious as to what people preferred :)
