How does everyone plan to start their new save when the pack comes out? I'm thinking of starting with a king and queen...their son prince and his wife princess and their child son who will be heir. I never start new save with 5 sims but I think its not really a "rags to riches" type pack. I'm excited about the builds/castles/palaces. Do you think we will get more fun types of staircases?!??! (excited for the trailer in the morning)
I don‘t know enough about the ep yet, but I think I will have a king, queen and a teenage prince or princess. I will focus on playing with the teenager and will have him/her grow up, find a love and become king/queen eventually.
I'm going to continue playing my old save and I have no idea who could be royal in it, but I'm still excited! 😊 I think it will be fun to play royalties. I guess I'll figure out something once I know more about the pack. Maybe I'll have to create a new household, though I could start something with the premades of the new pack too...
I already have a kingdom with a royal family and history spanning more than two centuries. I got aristocracy in my game, including many Houses and some nobility (those with titles like duke, baron etc). I'm looking forward to see if we can add titles to our sims, and I hope we can add whatever we like, not restricted to a pre made EA system. Well, I'll keep playing my old save, but I might need to adjust a few elements depending on how the pack is set up. I also hope I can get rid of some CC, but time will tell.
IIRC, the photo above was taken on the crown princess' 20th birthday - she is the one in a long white dress.
To anyone starting a new save, I recommand pereparing by playing their familytree for at least a couple generations. You can cheat their aging, so it won't neccessarily take forever, but the point is that you and your future monarch will then enjoy real paintings showing the former members of a royal family. The family tree itself is not as important in game, because I doubt future kingdom features will involve already dead sims. Bu you will of course make notes for later. By starting with a king & queen and then build the families of their children and again the 3rd generation, maybe making sure their crown prince/ss is ready to take over the throne as you get the new pack, you will have so much more to build your royal game on. Relatives might be given noble titles, and you will have a handfull spouses waiting for this top level of your community. If the pack comes with at least one royal family in one of the 3 kingdoms/hoods, you will be up for a flying start as your family can marry into the other nation's royal family :) And, if you don't want to play many households, you can simply limit the royal offspring...
Also, I think it's fun to have a flag design for my naition(s), it gives a hint to what colors should be included with official designs/decor. I hope we get a flag design feature with the game, but if not, you can always choose one of the existing designs just to pick your main color, and adjust details when we see what the pack offers.
Those old paintings should be made by a sim with top skills to make them more valuable. Photos would work for the latest generation, but paintings give more omph visually, especially if we now get new grand frames - if not, there's CC.
Conflicted tbh on one hand I have my dear old save on other I kind of feel like fresh start and new legacy is what I actually really need to get playing again 😅
maybe it is just what I have to do as scary as it is say this universe got hit by asteroid or whatnot and start a new alternate universe all together 😅
well, keeping several builds though, those I don't fancy starting over 😅
I think it's perfectly okay for you to take a bit of a "time out" playing another save. When I get overwhelmed/ overrun by Erik and Company, I build. I also had fun setting up, or almost, a new Ancestral save, set in the mid-1700s America. I haven't played it much, but I bought time while the big patch got sorted out. Ultimate, I did a Reset, that I unfortunately labeled a Restart for my Cantrell's. Took them back to just prior to university.
As for what I'm going to do with this new pack is quite probably set up two neighboring kingdoms. King Stephan, and whatever the Prince Philip's father was called. Yes, I love fantasy, which is why I like Faeries. I was just looking at the Royalty mod, again. Had it once, but it's so totally complicated it will take me some time to come to grips with it. I am looking forward to what this pack offers, that much is certain. Eventually, Erik's run will be finished, (Say it isn't so!) Who knows, he's good-looking, maybe he should be a prince or a member of the royal guard?
Ooh, you just sparked an insane idea in my head! What if Erik, the so-to-be King of Rock N Roll, were to be called to whatever kingdom to give a royal performance? This could be fun. Will he fall in love with the princess, or she him? Will his relationship with Kayleigh survive? . . . Oh dear, I'm rambling. 🤣
I think maybe this is where one of my Fairies marrying in to the Summerdreams may become a story point. Oberon & Titania aren't explicitly titled, but WAY back in Makin' Magic, Mara was a Fairy Queen. She may be out to recapture (or establish) that title.
Also, has anyone else noticed that the 5 core occult life states - Vampire, Spellcaster, Werewolf, Ghost, Fairy - echo the core games of the old World of Darkness games? I ask because I can see a lot of Silver Fangs/Shadow Lords rivalry played out with Werewolves.
Or I may play Royalty-adjacent, pick favorites, and use disruptive skills & abilities to try to shift influence & power. We'll have to see how it plays once the pack it out.
I don't know yet, maybe will play the premades or maybe some poor sims in my game will become the only living heirs of a monarchy and sadly will need to relocate to the palace and learn proper manners and maybe make lots of mistakes along the way. 😁🤣I need to find out more about gameplay to see what's possible. I like the look of the new worlds, think they will make nice vacation destinations too. Also, wonder if we can establish kingdoms in other worlds as well, we could have a royal house in Mt. Komorebi or maybe Windenburg too.
