Get Together. I feel Get To Work tried to do too much, and ended up doing none of it very well.
Agreed! Although in terms of gameplay Get Together could have much more, like self employed DJs, events, and more types of venues, but they did a good job with what is in the game.- The CAS, Build/Buy, and world make Get Together better for me. Gameplay wise Get to Work has more but its all over the place. Get Together is more focused even though it could have so much more in terms of gameplay, alot of cool things could have been implemented in this pack.

I don't get all the hate Get to Work is getting. I feel like you guys are trying to hate on the pack, while I feel it was great. However, overall I have been enjoying what Get Together has a lot more.
In my opinion, I feel like both of these expansion packs are executed WAY better then the ones from the previous games, however they have kind of meh ideas. However, I feel like when they do old packs, they will be way better then their previous versions.
Because everyone has different tastes, you might hate something but we love it :)- Get To Work. At some point I do want the content so I can set up my own "home" businesses and the like. TheSimSupply made that aspect of the game look super fun with his Rags to Riches challenge but, typical me I freaking missed Get To Work when it was on sale for £15.99. ^_^;
I love the look of Get Together as well (I already have several ideas for clubs) and whenever that goes on sale I do plan on getting it at some point but at this moment I would prioritise Get To Work simply because I think that pack could expand my gameplay more.
It's kinda' sad though. I used to pay top whack for these expansions but now I just can't justify it at all. I'm not sure if that's solely down to the game (I do struggle to see how these packs are worth £30) or whether I'm just not as interested in the franchise as I used to be (I think the last time I truly "binge-played" this franchise was when TS2 Apartment Life came out).
I still have fun and feel inspired to play every now and then but in-between those sessions I'll go months without touching the games at all and, I don't know, I just don't have that overwhelming compulsion I used to have. "BatmanSimmer;14443381" wrote:

No shade, but what do you like about it? I love the look and feel of Windenburg and all the new places to hang out but maybe I'm missing something. I got bored with the Club/group experience so fast. How do you play that keeps it interesting? To each his own but I'm just curious/nosy :)- that is hard because I like them both, there are great things in each pack, they are so different. I would miss a lot in each pack.

I'm not trying to hate on the pack. It comes very easily to me.
On that note: Get together adds a lot more in a general sense of gameplay. Whereas Get To Work did not. There is very little GTW offers outside of active careers, which I find very tedious and unattractive.
GT can be used in all aspects of daily life. For example: I've found a fun use for the daily task requirements by creating and joining clubs that focus on that aspect.- Cabelle186310 years agoSeasoned Ace

I'm not trying to "hate on" anything. I was originally really looking forward to Get to Work. I really wanted to like it and had so many hopes for the pack. I am disappointed because of what it lacks, freedom and options. The task lists that the active careers rely on are really grinding and kill the enjoyment for a sandbox player like me. It's weird though that Get To Work felt like a barebone of everything type of expansion pack whereas Island Paradise (Expansion pack for The Sims 3) had much MORE STUFF THAT WERE SO IN DEPTH.
What a really odd comparison. Why did you choose the last EP of TS3 to compare to the first EP of TS4? Also, I just have to note that IP was a buggy mess. Routing was horrific and the lagging issue made it unplayable for me, unfortunately. :(
As for the topic at hand, I would have a hard time choosing. I enjoy GTW and all the goodies that came with, love the sci-fi stuff connected to it and am enjoying playing the active careers and playing around with retail, though I'm disappointed we can't do home-based businesses or at least multi-use lots. The group system was patched in and is probably what I like best about where they went with GT, but the world really is gorgeous. I just haven't had time to play with GT too much yet.
