Going back to vanilla?

Lately, I was down to just betterbuildbuy and an offgrid teapot. I just started fresh again and will not be adding those two things back in. I expect lots of bugs in the new pack, and I expect the default advice to be to remove the mods folder. I am saving myself from having to do that step.

I am learning to use less more creatively. It is now becoming part of my gameplay to figure out how to use as little of everything as possible. I pay no bills to live on my lot. With the extra money that I want to blow before the bills arrive, I go for a vacation every weekend, and I am discovering all the hidden nooks in worlds that I don't play fulltime in.

I do a lot of cross-pack play. I enjoy irony and look for opportunities to do unexpected things. I test the game for its limits.

I miss my offgrid teapot, so I will need to take more time to find all the opportunities to consume tea in the game. I need to start a notebook of where things are located.

I hate hate hate when the game has bugs. Disappearing harvest worth thousands of dollars are discouraging if the bills are due that pay for the land and equipment required to grow them. It was that bug that committed me to trying to play as minimally as possible. Glitches on vacation don't bother me so much. I go home to where everything works, because almost nothing is there. LOL.

I still haven't gotten around to using mods or cc... it just seems like so much work.

I tried going back to pure vanilla. I learned that Maxis CAS items are glitchier than cc if you play elders or sims with wide necks. I am now playing with all the gameplay mods added back in, but with almost no CAS or BB cc items. But I’ll have to add some cc back for sims who are not young and model slender but still want to wear jewelry that doesn’t disappear into their skin, and tops that don’t fold up weirdly.

I only play my Sims 4 Vanilla & I use alot of in game cheat codes. It's so fun. Especially how I make my sim households. ;) B) :p

I've only ever used two mods, one that nukes the sunray effect from eco-living and one that removes the mosaic blur. Now, Sims 2 is another story... but that one stopped being supported/updated long ago.

I love playing with mods and some of my cc is actually made by a friend of mine specified to the Cole family I restarted in November 2022

I could never play without autonomy fixes and tweaks.

Used MCCC for a while but got tired of having to update it and have pretty much figured out how to accomplish the same things with the current game mechanics and cheats or just become less bothered by the short comings. Only CAS CC I use is some single piece swimsuits for my female sims because I think the in game ones look like old granny suits.

I have always been vanilla with the sims 3 and 4 I enjoy the game without mod or cc. I’m happy without any mods as all the do is take up space on my computer and need updates and knowing my luck I would forget to do it ?

I had played vanilla sims for a very long time before more content for Maxis Match came out (U compared to earlier days. Don't use overly complicated mods that always break or unsupported ones. With my main ones like UI or MC command the creators are always quick in updating it within the same day and I can play without it in the event it is broken in a modded game. Or when there were updates that I wouldn't update the game because of a bug of sorts I'd just play vanilla in my vanilla save and I still enjoyed it.

Had played vanilla at 2014 to 2016 well enough and that was with having waaaay less stuff for base game.

Always good to have a vanilla save to go to in the event mods get broken.
