Life and Death
I would say it partly depends on your gameplay. Are you more interested in romance, dating, and relationships or death and dying?
You can check out what's included in each pack here:

I would choose Life & Death
Life & Death has more to offer for my playstyle, the swamp- and meadows world is also more interesting than the dating downtown.
For generational players Lovestruck is probably indispensible. I really enjoy the new customizeable date goals and the cute no objects. It's a nice pack, I don't think picking it would be a mistake. Life and Death just has so much more with the reincarnation cycle, tarot, espanded ghost powers and little side quests.

When you think about it, the two go rather hand in hand, though. Don't they? Maybe get yourself one of them, and then ask a loved one to purchase you the other as a holiday present? (For the record: my mother will gladly purchase kits for me as a present, but all the other packs I'm on my own with. 😆

Thank all of you taking your time to let me know, think I am going to go with Life and death first.

Depending on how you play your game. If you like dating, Lovestruck seems to add quite a lot to the game, In my case, I was dumb enough to add L&D before I had fully explored the Lovestruck world and most of the features. It feels like I need to go back, but right now I've been busy populating the Life&Deah world. I enjoy the L&D a lot too, even if I do not intend ever to play ghosts or the Reaper career. Love the atmosphere of it.
A problem with both this packs, as I see it, is that they seems to offer more if you play a household for a while. I play rotationally and jump very often, so I miss out on most of the long term stuff. The romance system is not going well with my style, neither do the soul stuff and bucket list with life goals (L&D). I can still have some fun with both of them though.
I like the BB and CAS for both packs. The L&D world has a greater appeal to me than the Lovestruck world, in the meaning of inspiring my game play and stories. I feel more variety there too, with one hood with the vibe of an old historical town, and one which is a mix of cottage style countryside mixed with ruins of the long gone. And the 3rd hood is too beautiful to describe. But, both worlds are good and it might just be a personal preference.

thank you I have plans to get L&D next month, so far exploring L/S I should have gotten L&D first. But I like some of it.

Life and death seems like the EP with more gameplay. Both have a world that looks interesting, a new collection and NPC with a little quest. On top of that L&D comes with an active career, a rabbit hole career, improved ghosts, souls journey, rebirth, wills, hairlooms, funerals and pet crows. Lovestruck adds dates, a dating app and a box with naughty games.
I got Life and Death and like what it has to offer so far. For lovestruck I am still waiting for a sale to get it at 20€ or 25€
