I uninstalled ts4 a while ago for many of the same reasons others have listed.
I don't hate ts4 I had high hopes for it when I got it summer of 2016. I got it specifically because ts3 was buggy for me, it would crash constantly and eventually certain save files I had been playing for years were too corrupted to even open. I played the demo it seemed fine , especialy after hearing so many awful reveiws. It did improve on certain things so I thought it was being hated on mostly because it was cool to rather than it was awful. So I bought ts4.
Then city living came out, and we couldn't build apartments, not even by cheat. I was crazy disappointed. When I learnt that we couldn't even place pre made apartments in other world's, I decided to personally boycott city living. I felt that it was an extremely lazy way to implement a large system such as apartments. Cats and dogs comes around and once again I am finding limitations, not being able to see pet needs, no control over pets, another active kind of buggy career, and no small pets meant I ended up personally boycotting C&D as well. At this point I hadn't really played ts4 since august of 2017, I still haven't really played since then tbh. I' annoyed by the delays between ep and half of them I personally can not support in good faith.
Then I started looking at the fact that sp are holding items I care about hostage. MFP is the example that everyone collectively seems to have lost it over, but I haven't been OK with things like hot tubs, Bowling, party types or butlers being locked away for 10$. The sp in this version I hate, they do not cover a build theme entirely, instead focusing on one or two items with new animations and lots of decor. The model also seriously concerns me that I will never see more than two styles of hot tub and that every small item that used to fill ep (butlers, new party types, bowling, small animals) are now all going to cost me an additional 10$ to get. I once again can not in good faith support this system. Nore can I really justify it financially.
There are so many other things that I don't like, live service that updates my game often adding bugs and fixing things for packs I don't own. Having all the world's I don't own show up in the world's menu annoys me. The bugs annoy me like crazy since the only reason I gave ts4 a chance to begin with was to limit them. The lack of male cas content is annoying. The lack of even just a color wheel for items and clothing, and then not having matching Color swatches was honestly pathetic. No terrain editing tools. No different levels of foundation. Plantsims I find insulting as a "lifestate". Being given awesome new build features for house exteriors then never getting any new items to use in them. Sim traits that do almost nothing. Small amounts of build space per world. There are so many small things that add up for me and some of them seem so basic in concept to get right, that I just get frustrated all the time.
The worst part then comes that, a lot of what I want and hope for tends to be said as impossible because of things like gallery compatability or stability of the game or money or whatever. I just got to the point last Nov. where I felt it was clear that this game was not made for players like me, so I uninstalled the game and set to work fixing up ts3. I hang around here because I enjoy looking at build contests and I have a hard time letting the Sims go. I grew up with the Sims, it was my childhood game and I still have hope for it. So I provide feedback and check in for news on new packs keep hoping one catches my imagination. There's also some people here who I quite enjoy talking to and really this is the only place where I can nerd out about Sims stuff fully. I still don't hate ts4 it has its gems of game play, they just aren't enough for me.
You may not see this op but I do get what you are saying and agree whole heartedly with the points you made.
