I won't uninstall it, I just don't play it near as much as I used to. To use your term....thin gameplay is the reason why. There's no sim dynamic going on. There's just a lot of "busy work" to try to make up for the lack of depth.
Sims 2, it appears, was the pinnacle of the sims series in regards to the sims themselves. I had high hopes that depth was coming back in 4 after missing it so much in 3 but it appears that's not the case. They've gone further the other direction and removed even more than 3 did. It's sad for me because I have loved this series so much and S1 and 2 were my game go-to's to play. I had no need for other games because I had them.
I am playing S4 today because I haven't much since JA came out. But I am not invested in it. I love the sims I create and the builds I can make, but somehow, something is lacking. I don't love the Live mode as much as I did once upon a time when the Sims 2 sims were so awesome to play.
I can still play 2, but it's unfortunate that this wasn't an updated version of the best game of the series. Rachel said they were going back to the roots of the game. She lied. Because the roots made the characters ever and always entertaining to work with. Personality and DEPTH meant something then. It doesn't now. :'(
