it should pop up when you first click the computer, could try and repair game or get a new computer otherwise they still come back pretty quickly my family's cat ran away for day and came back without the alert the same as another family who did post it. Also the option doesn't seem to pop up if they haven't gotten the sad moodlet for missing furry friend.
