I'm also super worried about having to turn down my graphics a bit now. I have the shadows on highest which does look stunning with the new lighting update, but bigger worlds like Windenburg, Selvadorado and Granite falls get a bit of a frame rate drop, which is nothing I can't live with, but it is noticeable. I guess I can deal with turning my shadows down a bit until I upgrade my computer. I had been putting off the upgrade since I haven't played sims 4 as much lately, but this is absolutely stunning.
