Thanks @MVWdeZT . It makes sense balancing the positive and negative preferences.
I've modified my routine. Each sim will now select 1 Liked Activity as a child (I like to think that children are too young to focus a lot on dislikes), then 1 Activity + 1 Sim Char + 1 Conv. Topic on Teen bday and again on YA bday, and the total of those 4 should now balance with 3 Likes and 3 Dislikes. They are free to pick all 3 dislikes on their Teen bday, though, but will then need to pick only Likes on the YA bday. Aaaand, there will probably be a few exceptions from these rules...
I just noticed that the game obviously add Likes/Dislikes for non played sims, hopefully based on what they do on community lots while a played sim is visiting. This frustrates me a little because I prefer having full control, but so far it was just a rare thing, as most sims had nothing when I went to CAS to edit their Likes/Dislikes. As long as the game won't remove my settings or add tons of preferences, I can live with this. If the game will add many preferences, I might just as well stop adding them manually because it is quite a tedious operation anyway...
So far I found only 2 married couples that did not sport any good compatibility. Luckily no couples got the bad stuff.
