Happy 9th Birthday Sims 4!

I started playing on day 1. September 2, 2014. I've enjoyed the game since the beginning. Even through the dark days of no toddlers. :p Still looking forward to new content and new experiences in the coming years.

Late start with Sims4 , but for me, better late than never :)

I’ve been plying the sims 4 since 2020. I bought it during lockdown. I guess really that makes 2 and a half years, but at this point, it’s closer to three. In these 3 years, I’ve played more hours than I’d like to talk about lol. I’d heard of the sims before then, but I never thought it would be as much fun as it is! If I’d have known it was this good, I probably would have played sims 3 as well, which I still plan to get one day. I think one of the best parts about the sims 4 is honestly these forums. I’ve never met such a friendly and supportive community! If I had to pick just one favorite part of the game itself, I’d have to say my favorite thing about the sims 4 is the freedom it allows me. After playing the sims 4, it’s very hard for me to play anything else, because I keep thing to myself, “if this were the sims there’d be a pack or a mod for that feature” or “if this were this sims, I could just cheat this” or “why can’t this video game character have this customization? I can change that in the sims!” I love being able to set up my game and tell the stories that I want to tell, not being limited by game rules or time limits. It’s just good, relaxing, stress-free fun.

Bought it for half price on that first Black Friday sale. I didn't really get into playing it until the Vampires patch when they finally unleashed the Tots though.

Got it since launch? I remember the day it came out was the 1st day of my college chemistry class. Luckily that day we were just going over the course info because I was getting distracted just thinking that I'd head to my local video game store to grab the game. Honestly I'm happy with how far the game has come, from the boring white loading screen, main menu and colorless maps to a more colorful and vibrant environment.

When I started playing in September 2014, I was in a terrible situation. I had been editor for a local newspaper for many years. In autumn 2014, the newspaper went bankrupt and our whole team was laid off. Luckily I found a good new job a few months later, but I had to move to another town and start a new life. The Sims helped me greatly in this situation - as a symbol of continuity and an eternal source of fun and distraction. Many thanks to the team for making this wonderful hobby possible.

I downloaded it sometime around the end of September, beginning of October 2014. I was still really into TS3 at that point so I would occasionally take a break and try it out. I kept going back and slowly fell in love with it. It took some time because of the lack of cc, which for me playing without it is a no-go, but also the lack of vampires and the adjustment to the new art style. As more and more cc came out and I realized how much easier it was to add and remove I was hooked and I haven't looked back.

@DaniRose2143 I was into TS3 at the time too but I just couldn't play it anymore. Literally. I played on a laptop that just wasn't meant for gaming and TS3 pushed it to its limits. It busted the fan and literally cracked open keyboard? I had to stick with 4 but also took many breaks in between from lack of many things.
I got hooked when I ended up in the hospital for about 2 weeks and couldn't have much visitors. Sims mobile and freeplay kept me entertained, I told myself when I'm discharged I'm going back on 4. It got me through tough times?

Actually now that I think of it I'm not too sure :sweat_smile: I might have missed some months

but I'm pretty sure I was there before OR because I recall being so upset that I couldn't buy the pack at release (it was not available in stores only online and I used to buy my games in irl stores until like get famous or something)
