has anyone’s mermaids successfully drowned a sim?

i had a group of four mermaids repeatedly try drowning the same sim, but they never drowned, just yelled about their motives. i haven’t seen the animation, just heard several game changers talk about ...

Exactly. Why have the power to lure sims into the ocean and seemingly drown them, when it doesn't actually work? Misleading to say the least.
