Its just small things that are missing some times that could make family play better, for instance, ROM could have had a my first wand item that a magic child could use to master a few simple spells (child related ones) which could have given them talent points when they turn teen, or a miniature broom that a toddler could play with, a parents could tutor their child about magic (again for future skill) or talk about it etc, would make it feel like it all bonds together rather than the family feeling like its split in two almost until the children are teens, more interactions at the very least would bind it all together. I'm annoyed that my spell caster can't cast scruberoo on a toddler to make them clean, what harm would that have done really? I can do it to adults but not my toddler? Doesn't make sense.
