@susannesims I added them to my household and drained their needs with UI Cheats.
If that's in reference to how to do we avoid having them get culled by the game over time - sims only seem to get culled if they're lacking strong enough relationships.
I made a whole household full of the ancestors of one of my played sims (I made her whole massive family, then killed them all off save for her, and then moved her out on her own).
She keeps an urn of two different ancestors on top of a bookshelf in her apartment, and have given those two ghosts 'apartment keys' so they're constantly around bugging her. That seems to have kept the entire household from being culled.
So I'm thinking the trick to have permanent ghosts is to just make sure someone in the ghost household has a near maxed out relationship with one of your played sims.
That noted, whole the entire household remains, I've never seen any of the rest of the family show up in game, and her two relatives have only showed up on lots if she was around, that I know of.
To the main topic, I don't keep any graveyards but because I have aging turned off I've yet to have more than 1 sim 'die' in my game outside of that family. A murphy bed caught the sim I was playing through Strangerville with on my first save. At the time I just backed out and started up again from a save an hour earlier, and removed all murphy beds I knew about from my game (have since found a downloaded house has one, but I've also since added a mod that keeps murphy beds from being deathtraps - I didn't know they could do that when I was originally using them).
I don't think I would add a graveyard if I was playing with aging on or otherwise had a pile of dead sims. There just aren't enough lots for me to be willing to give one up for it.
