Have You Ever Switched Up Your Gameplay …

… to discover how funny it is to watch a Child Sim 'work sloppily' when it comes to the project. I had no idea of what I was missing. Adrian is spilling chemicals all over, and the clay he's softening in his hands seems to crumble all over. LOL

Please, go ahead and add your own 'have you ever' discoveries. :)

  • I have such a hard time giving my sims flaws, so I’ve never tried doing that. I will give it a go next time i play :D

Nope, but I am not a perfectionist. There are some sims I want to turn out bad for story purposes.

Wow, you're also good at judging character, too, I see. ;)

Back in Sims3 I was very glad we could give our Sims five Traits. Made it so much easier to help round out their personalities. A character is only interesting if they have a flaw or two. It should be noted that one of my Child Sim's older brothers is clumsy. In Sims 3 he was also childish. Not bad for a genius, World Renown Surgeon. ;)

I miss having 5 traits so much! A lot of the Sims 3 traits we’re so unique as well and i miss them a lot. I do try to give my sims a “negative” trait, but it usually ends up being squeamish, clumsy or hot tempered. I’m too scared of hurting my other sims feelings if i pick something like ‘mean’ haha
  • Well there was the time I accidentally turned a family sim into a supercharged female equivalent of Don Lothario because I wanted to play a Sim with a high Charisma for a change. I never play romance sims and never bother getting Charisma aboth 4 normally.

But I do enjoy imperfect sims, they are much more fun then perfect ones.
  • I once had a lazy sim with the irresponsible-trait from the parenthood-pack. Now that was a challenge! Had a quite expensive house and it was so so difficult to keep it floating. Fun!

I often use the “bad” traits from the parenthood-pack to round out sims. Several of them have fun consequences ingame and they don’t take up a trait-slot. There are cheats on the web to give them to a sim.
  • I have an example:

Normally, when my Sims discipline their children, I have them, shall we say, be "reasonable" and rational about it. But currently, I play my vampire who is hot-headed and it will much more like him to be a person who yells when met with opposition and defiance. So I have him yell at his fussy toddlers - they take after him! Although I would never lose my temper like that with real toddlers, it feels liberating and awesome to immerse myself in roleplaying =D

I always aim to go for that roleplay element, because my life as a gamer started out with roleplaying games (text-based MUD) and my fondness for it has never left me.
  • Yes, this game allows the player to play it anyway they wish. I love that it's open-ended. I set my own goals for my Sims. The fun is in seeing they achieve it, or fail miserably. ;)
  • I've challenged myself in my current save to give each of my sims one less than positive trait as their teen choice, just to make me use the ones I never get around to. I'm also trying to max variety with my toddlers by not using a trait again until I've used all of the others. Fussy toddlers are a pain! So are jealous adults, honestly. So far I'm adapting ok to Unflirty and Self absorbed.
