Think of it as photoshop in the game if that makes any sense... It changes contrast, saturation, sharpness, etc many more options. Change around the Reshade settings to get the effects you want or DL a preset. It's considered an overlay so the in-game camera doesn't capture it. You need to use Reshades built in camera for screenshots... or a program like Fraps.
Never heard if reshade before. Does it basically do the same thing as the NoBlu mod by Luumia Sims? Or are there more benefits to reshade? "Zasz;c-16870961" wrote:
The options remind me of my own recent poll :)
Oh? I thought this one was a little more inclusive :) lol- MDianaSims7 years agoSeasoned AceIt seems complicated and from what I've heard, it's quite heavy on the system.
And, personally, I don't really like the majority of presets I've seen other simmers use. - Nindigo797 years agoSeasoned AceI have tried several, but my eyes don't like it. Also, it sadly affects the HUD which doesn't appeal to me.
- Like all post-processing solutions I find its suite of effects garish and unnecessary, especially if you don’t fine-tune the configurations - which most people don’t. Also, it invariably makes menus and text look like garbage.
- Suziish7 years agoSeasoned AceI've used it and if I could get the insane bloom under control, I would have probably liked it. But, to be honest, it was more complicated to figure out then I wanted to get involved in.
I tried toning the bloom down, I tried several presets. But, either the bloom would be toned down and the colors muted, or I'd have the colors where I wanted them but there would be that massive bloom on whites and light tones.
And I'm not overly fond of having to use an outside source to take screenshots. I like just pressing C to take my screenshots. I'm extremely lazy screenshoter. I don't edit, I don't use outside programs. I just press C and that's all I'm doing. :D :D - Hermitgirl7 years agoSeasoned AceNever tried it or looked into it. I like the way my game looks, and because of that there is no need to look into something that will make my game run harder.
- LadyKyn7 years agoSeasoned AceI use it and love it.
The non-reshade in-game screen shots are very beautiful, but with Reshade I dowloaded a preset that gives it a subtle change without over doing it. Once you find some preshades you like you'll definitely want to keep it in game. Mines just slightly brightens the colors and sharpens.
It's also fun to play around with some features if you're lookin' to create your own with different filters.
I THINK I had gotten one from brntwaffles. - thatsnotsweg7 years agoSeasoned AceI tried it out once but didn't use it for long. It wasn't worth the hassle.
- generuler47 years agoSeasoned HotshotI love reshade. I could never stop using reshade.
You don’t realize how dull and boring the game looks until you use it. Granted it takes time to find the preset you like or just make your own(which is very possibly). I love the reshade I use by Zisstel it provides a bright one and a dull one. I use the dull one because it closest to the game colors but provides that extra pop.
Neither of those two reshades mess up the UI and also in my opinion don’t mess up the FPS so much cause the game already have those issues(I have a gaming computer). However, when I did have just a basic laptop that barely could handle the game reshade wouldn’t even come on for me lol.
It isn’t a hassle or take long to do at all. And with the amazing video tutorials on how to use it, it’s not that hard. It’s basically the same thing as downloading cc(if you use it). Also, with the newest version the presets loads up amazingly fast and you can see your own fps and time. That is one feature I LOVE.
