HELP I've Got The Age Set to Long But My Sims' Ages Don't Reflect It!

I play on Long. I set my game to Long, but then switched aging off while I allowed the kids the two weeks of summer off. I just turned aging back on because they are set to begin in two days' time. What is strange is that the Toddler only has five days left until he ages up, and my Teens only have 8 days left. The Mom is an Adult and has only 10 days until she becomes an Elder. This isn't even close to the correct day-count. How do I fix this? To the best of my knowledge I didn't select, ever, random aging.

If I place them into a new save, will this fix it?

Please, and thank you, in advance.

The latest public release of MCCC (2022.4.2) has lifespan set to normal no matter what the game settings are. It's an issue due to EA changing the amount of days in each lifespan. You will need to set each lifespan manually through MCCC.

I've heard this is what's going on... someone correct me if I'm wrong. I don't know if the latest Patreon release (2022.5.0) fixes it.

Thanks for that, but I do think you misunderstood my problem, Or I didn't explain it right. I don't use MCCC to set the number of days for each age level. For that you have to first set your game to Normal, then adjust the number of days. I only use MCCC to check on how many days my Sim is in for a certain age level. I play on LONG. According to the new permanent changes EA made with HSY, a Teen is now a Teen for 52 days on LONG. My Sim was only into that stage for two game days before I set it to aging off, for the two weeks of summer. Now, I know I don't have to turn aging off. I was afraid I'd run out of time before he aged up to YA. (You can only set the number of days into an age stage with MCCC from 0-8 max. when on Teen.) When I turned aging back on, he only had ten days left. :open_mouth: Subtract 12 from 52 and you get 40. At the very least, he should have registered 40 days left until he ages up, not 10.

I followed my gut-instinct. I did a game repair and then a game folder Reset. I brought my family into a new save and he now has 50 days left when I turned aging back on. It was the GAME.

  • @GalacticGal , what Simplyjen is saying, if you have MCCC istalled, you have aging always on normal, no matter do you set it on long or not in game.

only if its off, then it is off.

I tested last night. my challenge teen, is in save where aging is off. she is 2 simweeks old, i know that. but i just (mccc installed) changed lifespan to long, and now it says my teen has 9 days till YA, she has not been even at high school yet.

changed it to normal, same 9 days.

then short, same 9 days .

Taking out the mod made ages back to normal.

I keep playing aging off, untill I have the version of MCCC with updated ages.

You are very lucky in your new save to have correct aging again, or do you not have mccc anymore or have early acces mccc?
  • I'm having the opposite problem on aging with MCCC - my teen had 21 days left until he ages to YA - I put in the new version of MCCC and he now has 176 days to go - I had my game on long and had manually entered in the new age ranges that EA made but when I switched to this version, it completely wrecked the ages - everyone in the high school is on this new extremely long span - I know I can age my sim up with a cake but I was trying to have him age along with his friends in school.

I don't know how to fix it but things could always be worse I guess.

EDIT: Trying to fix it just makes thing worse. I hate, and I mean I REALLY HATE, having to start over yet again but I really wanted to put things back as they were - problem is I can't seem to do that now.

Correct. This is what I meant. I also decided it would be best to keep aging off. Looks like the newest version of MCCC is now public with the age fix.

I will, indeed, check that out. I have to say, I had to restart a third time. I do use MCCC but the latest version, which I believe I have, was deemed compatible. However, I ran into the exact same problem. What I discovered when I went into Options in the game, that the default is set to Normal. I changed it to Long, saved the application and I still get the same low number. My reasoning for throwing aside this save was that my Teen still had his Global Superstar status, but none of the sixteen songs he wrote. Nor a Tile on the Avenue. I also started the save in Fall, expecting to get them back into school. There's simply no time for him to write new songs, (while in school) which means no opportunity for him to win Best Song Accolades. This is wrecking my storyline completely. This is greatly discouraging. I'm all but set to allow my Sims to graduate early, just to send them to Uni, so they can get on with their lives. I really only set aging off while in uni, since I take three weeks to get them through. But, at this rate, the parents will all be deceased before a single grandchild is born. EA, please stop messing with what works! I'm sorry to say this, but it seems you break more than you fix.

I just did a game repair early this morning, after having reset my game folder. This is totally frustrating. I depend largely on MCCC to help keep my Sims' needs up. It's difficult to get my Rock Star where he needs to be without the mod. Here's to hoping that there is a newer version than the one I have, which was deemed compatible. I can only hope. Between the age problems and the horrific Wants and Fears system, they have all but sucked out the fun of this game, at least for me.

Quite frankly, I would rather have your problem. We always have the option to age up our Sims via cake when we want. I know, I have done this before. Unless, that's been broken, too …

Yeah, your problem is not enviable. I did manage to get mine somewhat sorted out. I figured out how to set the exact days of my sims to what I needed it to be and I was able to set all of his teen friends to the same age. The rest of the world is out of whack but I at least didn't lose my progress.
  • I am a happy camper, this morning. I downloaded the very latest MCCC v.2022. 5.0 and I am now trying to sort out the math. I want my Teens to be so many days apart, to show birth order. Erik is older than Joey and Joey is older than Brianna. It would appear that 84 days is the number for which they will remain Teens. I have left aging on, since there is more than enough time. I plan on playing 21 days of high school, which should be more than enough. Since I no longer have the constraints of making this save match up to my previous Main Save, it no longer matters if he receives four Starlight Accolades while in high school. I'm just very excited to report, that he won his first Karaoke Contest, was invited to do a photoshoot (happens when you reach 200 degrees Simrenheit, has earned over 20000 Simoleons, is now a Rising Star, finished writing his first song, licensed it and has received his very first nomination. All in two days. (More like one and a half days, it's early Monday morning). I went back to the top of this save after I installed the new MCCC. If I don't work out the math just so, I'll just age them up when I decide it's time.

The good news is, I'm excited to play again. YAY.
