Help! My sim is a mermaid/spellcaster!

When you say “removed the mermaid trait”, did you do it by using cheats, or did you cure her naturally by eating mermaid kelps?

I used a cheat to remove it, but she still has the hydration motive with the spellcaster background and the ability to use spells. Her father is the merman and her mother is a spellcaster. Her twin is a regular mermaid. It's too weird.

In all honesty, my story was heading down this arc that her twin was jealous of her sister's casting ability, but now she is really angry that her sister has both fins and magic :lol: Not really how I intended it to go.

The only thing i can think off, is trying to cure it ‘naturally’ by eating two mermaid kelps in a row. But if you already removed it with cheats, I’m not sure if it will work

Edit: if it doesn’t work, and you haven’t touched the save too much, you could try and restore it and then try the kelps again. Just remember to back-up your save :smiley:

It's a rotation save so yeah, I save a lot. I will try to see if feeding her kelp works as her mother has the ability to return her magic to her if needed. Thanks ^.^

The mermaid kelp did not work... She acts like she has a tail, but her legs just bend at odd angles...

Oh :( I wish they would either add proper supports for hybrids or make them completely impossible to get. It sounds frustrating

What's worse is now their kid brother is both a merman and spellcaster :neutral:

Oh no! Maybe also remove the spell caster trait and see if that helps?

I don't know if this will help or not, but it won't hurt to try. The MCCC mod has a cheat that clears occult type, and turns the sim into a human. If it does work, then you can do what you need to do if you want to turn them into the type of occult you want.
